Steven Noble was commissioned to create the new illustration for a new brand called Villa Ascenti in a scratchboard engraving style. The challenge was to illustrate and include all these ingredients sourced from the hills of Piemonte, celebrated as the ‘Bread Basket of Italy, and combine that with scenes from the Italian landscape. Piemonte is renowned for its terroir, production of fine wines and vermouth and this illustration brings to life the beauty of the picture-perfect Italian landscape and its local botanicals through the added vintage sign typography and vermouth label illustration, distinctive to the region.
